Saint Herman's Cave and Blue Hole National Park- Relax your mind and body in the Blue Hole, it was once a stretch of underground river cave but the roof collapsed. The Blue Hole is a 25ft deep pool, so named because of the color of the water. The river disappears below ground a few feet from the pool. Visit to the subterranean depths of St. Herman's Cave or hike the nature trails with their breath-taking views. Pottery vessels used for the collection of Zuh uy Ha (Sacred water) from dripping spelothems were found in the St. Hermans cave. Other interesting finds included spears and torches. All those items are now studied by the Department of Archaeology in Belmopan.

Altun Ha- was an important classic period site which was used for the trading that occurred between the Caribbean Sea and the inland Maya civilization. On the central portion of the site there are more than 275 structures. In the temple of Masonry Altars a priest tomb was discovered and it contained a jade carving of the Sun God, Kinich Ahau, weighing nine and three quarter pounds . Altun Ha is located an hour north-ward drive from Belize City through quaint country roads, secondary rainforest, Creole villages and isolated farms.
