HORSE BACK RIDING
San Lorenzo

The San Lorenzo tour takes you down the peaceful Mopan River. Your ride then take you through a jungle trail filled with bird song before once again entering the wide open pastures. Along the way you are likely to see many birds such as parrots, kiskadees, and herons as well as experience the sights and smells of the many trees that adorn the fields. Includes along the way is a stop at one of the many unexcavated Mayan ruins scattered throughout the valley. Aimed mainly at novice riders or those pressed for time.

Time: 2 hours.

Calla Creek

This tour takes you to the agriculture village of Calla Creek. The open rolling countryside offers many beautiful views of the river valley. You will also cross the Mopan River on horseback to experience a taste of country life. Optional stops along the way include food and drinks at Clarissa Falls resort and view of a bamboo furniture workshop.

Time 3-4 hours

Xunantunich

A quite riverside trail will take you to the village of San Jose Succotz where you will cross the river by ferry. Just a little furthers on are the well known ruins of Xunantunich. After an hour exploring these ancient Mayan monuments you will be happy for your steady steed to get you off your feet for your ride home. Time: 4-5 hours

Buena Vista

This isolated Mayan ruins is deservedly popular with more experienced riders. Hidden behind some lush tropical jungle, this minor site is virtually untouched with a small excavated temple open to the public. To get there riders must cross the  Mopan River 3 times on trail that takes you through beautiful open countryside. The trail offers a unique insight into our countryside.

Time: 4-5 hours
