This is an amazing tour that combines single track, double track and the Maya site of Xunantunich. This small but impressive Late Classic site had
a population of
about 7000 to 10000 at its peak and covered an area of 3sq. klm. |
| The main structure El Castillo stands 130ft high from
the plaza level and is adorned with stucco frieze on the east an the west sides.
We start at 8:00am riding on an open pasture and through semi-deciduous forest down to the village of San Jose Succotz.
Here we cross the Mopan River on a ferry and ride up hill for a mile on a paved road to Xunantunich where we spend about 1hr and

From here the ride continues to
the beautiful river bank where a picturesque single
track will takes us to Clarissa Falls for lunch.
After enjoying a delicious lunch we will continue
riding back to Chaa Creek where we started . |
