Hun Chi’ik Tours is a locally owned tour operator business based in the village of Succotz. It was established by local tour guides with a combined experience of over 20 years, to offer unique tour services. The word Hun Chi’ik of Yucatec Maya origin refers to the unique solitary Coati (sometimes referred to as Koton Chi’ik) that breaks from the pack to make its own path. It represents the philosophy or our business – we stand out by making our own creative path in offering extraordinary tours. When we were about to embark on this venture we went to Actun Tunichil Muknal for a walk. At the end of our walk just as we made up our minds a solitary Coati appeared on our path. We believe it sealed our commitment to stand out in the kind of service we aim to provide our clients.
